The portrait is a full-length portrait of a man in clerical dress, identified as "The Right Revd the Bishop of Brechin." The image is also inscribed with "Photo & published by J. Valentine, Dundee." Research shows that the Bishop of Brechin from 1847 to 1875 was Alexander Forbes.

The photograph is a full-length portrait of Reverend Joseph Newton Smith. The handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads "Rev. Newton Smith Harlow." In 1868 Smith was named as vicar to St. Mary Magdalene, Harlow. Smith was also a founding member of the Society of the Holy Cross.

The photograph is a full-length portrait of Reverend Father Abbot. The handwritten note on the back reads "Rev. Father Abbot, Christ Ch. Clapham." Research shows that a Reverend Bradley Abbott was the first vicar of Christ Church, Clapham, England, in 1867.

The photograph shows the altar of a church with a priest standing and two acolytes kneeling before him. The handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads "S. Laurence, Norwich." The image appears to be hand coloured with vibrant red for the robes, pink and purple for the altar screen cloths, and blue and gold for the banners on each side of the altar.

The portrait shows a man sitting in a three-quarter-length pose, with his arms crossed, holding a piece of paper. The front of the image shows the name and address of the British photographer Samuel A. Walker, at 64 Margaret St. Cavendish Square. The front also shows "Registered 25 & 26 Vic. C. 68" in reference to the "Creating Fine Arts Copyright Act of 1862."

Handwritten on the back of the image is the name "Richard". No further identifying information is available.

The photograph is a seated portrait of Dr. Pusey. Printed on the front on the lower left is the word "Copyright" and on the lower right the word "registered." Printed in the middle of the front is "Dr. Pusey." Research shows that Edward Bouverie Pusey (22 August 1800 – 16 September 1882) was an English churchman who served for more than fifty years as Regius Professor of Hebrew at the University of Oxford. He was a major promoter of the Oxford Movement.
