The archives consist of three bound registers of student marks, along with and biographical information about students from 1872 to 1907, with a pasted in list of the "Old Boys" of the school, added in 1928. Also in the archives are documents related to the original grant to provide support for a boys' school from 1872; correspondence with Miss Rosa DeBrisay about teaching at a girls' school in 1885; and financial records, land conveyances, correspondence, newspaper clippings, from 1872 to 1898. An essay by Ann Nichols on the history of St. Peter's Day School, prepared for a "Prof. Black, History 452" in 1994 is also in the files.

The royal visit archives consist of guest lists, programmes and invitations, visitors' registers, a recording of the prayer service, and the pen used to sign the visitors' register, for the royal visits of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Sophie, Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex. they visited as a couple in 2000 and Prince Edward visited again in 2007.

The service registers series consists of official listings of all services held in St. Peter's Cathedral Church and All Souls' Chapel from the start of services on 13 June 1869. The registers normally note number of congregants, numbers receiving communion, hymns sung, and additional service notes, as well as comments about such topics as weather, special events, etc. As well, some registers, particularly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, included pasted in copies of correspondence, newspaper clippings, copies of annual reports, and other documents. The registers, therefore, contain a great deal of information about church activities beyond specific services.

Demolition of the Church Hall

The photographs show the demolition of the old Church Hall. The event was described by Father Peter Harris as follows: "watched by a group of parishioners, the machine with the wrecking ball and mechanical jaws performed the actual taking down of the old building. By 4 pm, the old Hall had been reduced to a pile of rubble. By October, the Hall was almost complete and usable." Only photos A B C have been scanned.

According to information provided to the Archives by Father Peter Harris via email on 23 September 2019, the time frame for demolition of the old hall and construction of the new hall was as follows: "On Sunday April 18, 2004, a 'closing of the old hall' event was held after the church service. We gathered in the old hall for one last time, prayers were said and we all said 'farewell' to the old hall. Over the next three weeks, the demolition company performed to process of removing windows, wires, plumbing, glass, etc. Tuesday 11 May 2004 was the actual day of demolition of the structure. Some of us watched from the back stoop of the Church House, as the machine with the wrecking ball and mechanical jaws performed the actual taking down of the structure. By 4 pm, our old hall had been reduced to a pile of rubble. Over the next few days trucks picked up and carried away all the rubble, and then the construction of the new hall began. By early October the hall was almost complete and usable. The Dedication of the new Hall was Sunday 24 October, 2004. Bishop Hiltz was with us for this special event."

The archives consist of personal and church-related records created or received by James Simpson in his capacity as priest incumbent of St. Peter's Cathedral Church. Series include: correspondence, diaries, speeches, printed communications and addresses, notes and sermons, publications, and records related to personal and life events, along with a file of miscellaneous documents.

The contents span several dates before and after the 1917-1926 dates shown on the label. This kind of book might have been kept as an aide memoire by the minister to help with visits or to remember special events. The book was not intended to replace vital events records.
