Scope and content
The publication presented bible symbols, "designed and arranged to stimulate a greater interest in the study of the Bible by both young and old." The bible is inscribed "L. J. MacPherson".

Marjorie Vessey states: Laughlin John MacPherson was my paternal grandfather. He died in 1932. On an inner page he lists names of his four children with birthdates. "Harvie" was my father." Above the names text states: L.J. E. M. married on 2nd Jan 1895.
